DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Compare your system specification and make sure your computer can run Windows 7. The easiest way to check your system compatibility is using Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. The upgrade advisor will examine various aspects of your computer and let you know if your system will support Windows 7 or not. Just install and run the application and it does the rest.

2. Backup important files and settings
Before you do upgrading process, it is important to backup your windows settings and data (My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, your projects folders and files, Browser bookmarks, saved passwords, etc.). If you have already a Windows 7 DVD on hand, then you may use Windows Easy Transfer tool which you can find inside. Open your Windows 7 DVD, and Browse to the folder named support and then to migwiz on your Windows 7 DVD and launch migsetup.exe. Then choose everything you want to backup and transfer.

3. Newer hardware driver of your computer
Next step is to check and find system specs drivers are good to run with Windows 7? Older drivers may not always work, othis is especially drivers made specially for Windows XP. Visit your computer manufacturer’s website to see if they have newer drivers for Windows 7. Otherwise you have to download each driver for each hardware peripheral (vga, motherboard, chipset, etc).

4. Windows 7 Upgrade Procedure
